Former (and likely future) Texas gubernatorial Kinky Friedman is returning to the east coast, this time bearing his guitar, for a series of exceedingly rare full public performances of the stage show that started him down the winding road to international stardom. Joining Kinky for this series of dates are original Texas Jewboy, Little Jewford, and long-time Village Irregular, Washington Ratso. They'll be doing the show that just blew through Europe with rave reviews and sellouts everywhere.

For those not in the know (and where have you been?!) Kinky Friedman is a Jewish cowboy from Texas. He is renowned in music circles as the unpredictable and entertaining leader of "Kinky Friedman and The Texas Jewboys", and in literary circles as a best-selling author of 28 books (at time of writing). Unlike many authors so wrapped in their books that they live only an internally exciting life, Kinky is a man of drive and action who lives an exciting life and writes it.

He is also known for touring with Bob Dylan in the Rolling Thunder Revue, hiding the fugitive Abbie Hoffman from the FBI and CIA, and acting in B-grade Hollywood movies. He has befriended most of the musical and literary greats over the years as well as Presidents such as Bill Clinton and George W. Bush (Junior). In 2006 he ran for Governor of Texas. He still performs hits like Sold American, Ride 'em Jewboy, Get Your Biscuits in the Oven (And Your Buns in the Bed), They Ain't Makin' Jews Like Jesus Anymore and (Proud to Be an) Asshole From El Paso in sell-out concerts around the world.

Journalist John T. Davis states, "To know Kinky Friedman is to quote him." And quote him I have, in order to provide a vista of one outrageous life. But my aim in writing his story was to break through Kinky’s quotes to find the real man, the Richard Friedman in the Kinky Friedman. I was in search of everything Kinky…
