Integrating ska, swing, punk, jazz, funk, hardcore, country and the kitchen sink since 1989, the Cherry Poppin' Daddies came together as a group of misfit dropouts from the University of Oregon. They burst onto the Great Northwest's thriving music scene with a four-song tape and a name no one would take seriously, including themselves.

Putting many a show and broken heart under their belts (often performing under bastardized versions of their name), they independently produced three full-length albums: Ferociously Stoned (1990), Rapid City Muscle Car (1994), and Kids on the Street (1996). These included such road-trip mix-tape topping songs as "Drunk Daddy," "Ding Dong Daddy of the D-Car Line," and "Shake Your Lovemaker." Dedication and many hours of blood, sweat, and drinking led to their widely known multi-platinum recording, Zoot Suit Riot: The Swingin' Hits of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies (1997). After a whirlwind tour and a bout with fame, they emerged intact with no lack of passion for creating their own unique brand of music and shtick entertainment. The band released Soul Caddy in 2000, but the world was not quite ready for the Daddies' eclectic mix.
