On September 19,2008 Cowboy Mouth hit the stage at B.B. King Blues Club in Times Square to show New York City what rock n’ roll from the Big Easy is all about. The evening began with a solo set from lead guitarist, John Thomas Griffith, whose set offered songs of a protest nature with a side of anti-war sentiment. The set was well received despite audience expectations given Cowboy Mouth’s typically light-hearted and off the wall style.

The band took the stage with all of the exuberance and excitement of a Mardi Gras parade. The New Orleans-based rockers demand a lot of energy from their audience. Lead vocalist and drummer, Fred LeBlanc, requested vocal stimulation from the crowd as the band played tracks from their latest album, Fearless, which was released September 23, 2008. “Tell the Girl Ur Sorry,” was a standout track from the new record- a high energy, catchy track about the pitfalls of relationships. They also played hits from earlier albums like “Joe Strummer,” and “Voodoo Shoppe,” which are favorites of a Cowboy Mouth crowd. They finished their set with an amped-up version of Springsteen’s hit, “Born to Run.”

A Cowboy Mouth show is very high energy and a lot of fun. As LeBlanc says, "Cowboy Mouth is about pretending that you're five years old, naked as a jaybird and about to turn the hose on your parents, and there's not a damn thing they can do about it." Couldn’t have said it better myself.
