If any one individual can be credited as the premier figure of rock 'n' roll, it's Chuck Berry. His music, lyrics, and free spirit, made an indelible impression on millions of young people, including the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, with tunes like "Johnny B. Goode," "Maybellene," and "Memphis" becoming anthems to an integrated American youth and popular culture. Berry celebrated the birth of rock and roll in 1955, and he still remains one of its most superbly exciting performers. Each year, more and more people become aware of his enormous influence.

**VERY IMPORTANT: All New Year's Eve ticket holders should enter the block from the northeast corner of 42nd Street and 8th Avenue. To enter the block, ALL ticketholders must present their hard ticket at the police barricade to get on the block. Anyone with Will Call tickets should look for a B.B. King Representative (they will be wearing B.B. King hats and sweatshirts and may have a B.B. King sign), who will give them their ticket there, at which point they should follow the directions listed above.
