Robert Gee is a native of Philadelphia, the "City Of Brotherly Love" and has been singing professionally since the age of 15. Gee discovered his talents at a the tender age of 5 but really blossomed in junior high and high school where he was often a featured soloist in both concert and gospel choirs or playing a leading roll in musicals like The Wiz, Pippin, Ain't Misbehavin and many others! The young Settlement Music School vocal schloarship winner is classically trained, site reads and was an All City Choir memeber as well as Opera Ebony! As a teen Robert was featured in a volume of "Who's Who Among American Students In Music" and won many talent competitions like the Omega Psi Phi 1st place vocal winner!
Robert enjoyed performing local dinner theater but began singing in nightclubs and colledge campusues on the east coast at 19. He has traveled the east coast extnsively between Philly, NY, DC, Conneticut, Maryland and all points in between with his first band called "A Different Class". Who he also made local television appearances with the band on NBC's City Lights! Living Legend Patti LaBelle is credited with discovering the teen back in Philly and just like that legendary voice, Robert Gee would also go on to become and Amateur Night Winner at the world famous Apollo Theater!
As a solo artist Robert Gee released his critically accllaimed debut CD titled "All My Love" in 2008! He executive produced, co-produced, wrote, co-wrote, performed and arranged all the vocals on the CD. In 2010, the Black Music Association Of America not only acknowledged the debut CD with a nomination for "Best R&B Male Vocal Performance" but Gee was there winner! In the same year 2 songs from the disc, the title track "All My Love" and "Here We Go" were feature in the Indie film "Misunderstandings". In 2012 Gee's song "I don't Want To Lose Your Love" was nominated Best R&B/Soul Song by the Hollywood Music In Media Award. Gee was also nominated at Best Indie Artist by the Callywood Awards!
Optimistic about his future, Gee has released a brand new single "All I Ever Wanted" which he co-wrote with (Flyte Tyme Alum) Grant WIlliams Nicholas with an official music video playing on the Vevo channel and CMC The California Music Channel. The single is recieving rave reviews from the R&B and Soul music blogisphere, and landed on the 2016 Grammy consideration ballot for "Best Traditional R&B Performance"! Robert Gee The EP was released 11/11/2016 and is recieving rave reviews across the pond. The single "I've Given You My Best" was an instant UK Soul fan favorite and landed at #10 on the UK Soul Chart and at #16 in the "Best Of 2016 - Franklin Sinclairs Top 40'! It was a natural to follow up the lead single and has not disappointed. SIRIUS XM debuted the single 1/22/17 to an overwhelming response and the team decided to send it to "Smooth Jazz Radio and "I've Given You my Best is now #26 on the Smooth Jazz Charts, and #5 on the indie Soul Chart! Robert Gee is an emerging artist who's star is on the rise..!
