FIFTH OF BOURBON
Formed in 2010, Fifth of Bourbon is an electric blues band from NYC focused on performing creative arrangements of both traditional and contemporary blues and rock music. Imagine Koko Taylor fronting Led Zeppelin and performing electric blues versions of Howlin' Wolf songs, and you've got a good idea of this this band. The group features Matt Fink on drums, Kathleen Fletcher on vocals, Greg Gentile on guitars, Fred Gilde on keyboards, Ken Umezaki on bass, and Scott Warren on guitars.
Fifth of Bourbon's influences include Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Led Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Janice Joplin, and Howlin' Wolf, to name a few. Only a few years after forming, the band has secured a loyal following and has played to packed houses in NYC, including headlining the Highline Ballroom and other marquee venues across the Big Apple.
David Rogue's journey to performing has been marked by many meaningful stops along the way. Born to a violin prodigy father and an artist mother, David was raised primarily in New York City but also has spent significant periods of his life in various other places in the U.S. and Europe. A long-time poet, David always envisioned a life as a singer/songwriter and performer since his mother played him the Doors' "Touch Me" off one of her old vinyl records when he was 8 years old. Performing was never a feature of his childhood however. His passion for singing and songwriting remained hidden from most people. In fact, some of his closest friends during his formative years weren't even aware of his desire to be a singer or of his inextinguishable dream of pursuing music as a career one day.
During one of David's shows, RK\ Roman Klun, a 2X Grammy-nominated New York record producer and mix engineer came to see David perform, immediately understanding David's influences and approach. After a few discussions, a direction was established, "let's make a David Rogue record." After 6 months of production, the record known as "Victim of My Circumstance" reached the finish line with flying colors.
On September 29th, 2012, David performed his new record "Victim of My Circumstance" for the first time to a sold out show at Joe's Pub in New York.
