John Waite is an extraordinary vocalist, songwriter, and front man in his own right, as well as with the pop band The Babys and the rock supergroup Bad English.

Waite cut five albums and had numerous Top 40 hits with The Babys before moving to New York to go solo during the early 1980s. His first album, Ignition, boasted the MTV and rock radio staple "Change." In 1984, he found himself at No. 1 on the hit parade with "Missing You." The song topped the international charts and remains a radio staple around the globe almost 30 years later. Waite also hit the top of the charts during a two-album tenure with the supergroup Bad English. The band's No. 1 single "When I See You Smile" sparked sellout concert tours and a succession of Billboard Hot 100 hits.

During the '90s and into the new millennium, Waite has refused to live on former glory. He prefers to balance his life between singing on stage, composing, and recording honest, heartfelt solo albums, including Figure in a Landscape (2001), The Hard Way (2004), Downtown: Journey of a Heart (2007), and In Real Time (2010). He has written and recorded several songs for Hollywood movies. For kicks (and perhaps honor as a diehard Beatles fan), he even enjoyed a brief stint on a Ringo Starr concert tour.

Waite's tenth solo album and latest release, Rough & Tumble (2011, Waterfront Records), is bona fide proof that this talented musician still has much to offer. With standout tracks like the title cut, "Evil," and "If You Ever Get Lonely," the disc rocks harder than any other release of his storied career.
