The Blue Meanies -- one of the most popular '60s, British Invasion and Monkees tribute bands in the New York Tri-State area -- take listeners on a fun musical tour of rock's best decades, injecting new life into scores of classic songs.
Their set includes music by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, The Moody Blues, The Dave Clark Five, The Swinging Blue Jeans, Donovan, Peter and Gordon, The Hollies, Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas, The Animals, Herman's Hermits and Gerry And The Pacemakers.
The Blue Meanies are Gary Owen (guitar/vocals), Brian Cancemi (guitar/vocals), Scott Ringle (guitar/vocals), Damian Fanelli (lead guitar/vocals), Tony Fanelli (bass/vocals) and John "J.T." Thomas (drums).
The Blue Meanies have performed at International Beatles Week in Liverpool, England, and have become regulars at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City, where they have performed themed shows honoring The Monkees, the late Davy Jones, the British Invasion and The Kinks.
The Blue Meanies are fan favorites at the annual Abbey Road on the River festivals in Louisville, Kentucky, and Washington, D.C. They host the late-night jam session at the annual Fest For Beatles Fans in Secaucus, New Jersey. The band, a fixture at the NY/NJ Fest for 29-plus years, also has hosted jam sessions at Fests in Boston and Chicago.
The band released their first full-length CD, THE BLUE MEANIES, in 2009. The CD is available at their shows.
